After studying law and economics at the University of Freiburg, Ekkehard Hagedorn undertook his legal traineeship in Paris, with study periods at the London School of Economics. Ekkehard Hagedorn took his doctorate at the University of Freiburg (Dr. jur.). He is currently a member of the board of examiners for specialist attorneys in the field of inheritance law and of the Working Group on Inheritance Law of the German Bar Association (DAV).

Sebastian Vollmer studied at the University of Freiburg. After completing his legal training in Stuttgart, he worked in the real estate practice of a major international law firm, where he was awarded his doctorate.

Stephan Baur studied at the universities of Passau, Munich and Freiburg, where he also took his doctorate (Dr. jur.). He is currently a lecturer in private business law at the distance learning university HFH Hamburg.
