Barbara acts for local governments, national and local property developers, statutory authorities, heavy industries and individual landowners across Western Australia. Her clients include Mirvac and the Metrowest Group, as well as councils and public bodies managing complex conditional tenure arrangements.
Barbara advises on the full range of property and development matters: site acquisitions and disposals, land subdivisions and titling, Crown land dealings, development conditions and planning approvals, and commercial, industrial, farming and retail leasing. She also advises on heritage redevelopment projects and statutory planning requirements under the Planning and Development Act 2005 and Land Administration Act 1997.
Barbara has managed large-scale masterplanned community subdivisions from initial land purchase through to proforma contract preparation, statutory authority clearances and developer contributions. She has handled complex redevelopments of heritage buildings involving conditional land tenure, Supreme Court litigation to achieve vacant possession, and concurrent settlements across multiple strata lots. Her six years as sole in-house counsel at Asia Iron Australia Group gave her direct exposure to mining, regulatory compliance, governance and contested matters at scale.
Barbara's background in-house informs a results-focused approach to legal service delivery. In 2017 she completed a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance and was awarded National Dux in Risk and Compliance in 2016, reflecting technical grounding in governance alongside transactional practice.
