Antonio Cueto is a partner in our Intellectual Property Group, based in Madrid.
His practice covers all IP-related matters including patents (involving mechanical, chemical, electrical and biotechnology patent areas) designs, trade marks, copyright and unfair competition (with particular expertise in the field of trade secrets).
Antonio is extremely experienced in litigation with substantial experience in handling complex disputes relating to patents, trademarks, unfair competition and designs.
He joined us in May 2010 having worked in the Intellectual Property Department of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo for eleven years. In 2006 he worked as a Foreign Lawyer in the Patent Department of Dorsey & Whitney LLP in the USA.
He has an extensive teaching experience as a professor at Spanish and foreign Universities and Foundations, lecturing on courses and Master's degrees related to Intellectual Property at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas- ICADE, Fundación Carolina, Bar Association of Madrid, Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, Universidad Europea de Madrid and the Centro de Estudios Económicos y Comerciales. Since 2010 Antonio has also been Professor of Patent law at the Master in Intellectual Property of the University of Alicante (Magister Lvcentinvs) of recognised standing.
He is author of several articles on Intellectual Property published in specialised publications and is co-author of the first Handbook published in Spain by Francis Lefebvre on Intellectual Property (Edition 2012-2013) and he is also the author of the chapter "Novelty and Inventive Step" of the recent book "The new Spanish Patent Law" (December 2015).
In addition, Antonio has been consistently recognised by the main International Legal Directories such as Chambers Global and Europe since 2011, WTR 1000 since 2011 and Legal 500 since 2013.
