Anthony R. "Tony" Behr

Tony is the Managing Partner of the Firm. He is a recipient of Missouri’s most prestigious trial lawyer award, The Lon O. Hocker Memorial Trial Lawyer Award. He is also a recipient of the Missouri Bar Foundation’s W. Oliver Rasch Award, given annually to the author of the most outstanding substantive article published in the Journal of the Missouri Bar. In 1988 Tony was name the Outstanding Young Lawyer of St. Louis County. Tony is admitted to practice in Missouri and Illinois.

Having tried more than 75 cases to verdict, Tony is rated “AV” (the highest rating possible) by Martindale-Hubbell®, and is one of only four lawyers in St. Louis to have been selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America® in the categories of Commercial Litigation, Medical Malpractice Law, Personal Injury Litigation and Product Liability Litigation. Tony has also been named as a Missouri-Kansas Super Lawyer® in the areas of General Law, Business Litigation, Personal Injury Defense, and Medical Malpractice Defense.

Tony is a past-president of the St. Louis County Bar Association. From 1992-1998 Tony served a six-year elected term as a member of the 21st Circuit Judicial Commission (St. Louis County) for the selection of judges, during which term fifteen judges were appointed to the bench.

Born and raised in south St. Louis, Tony graduated from St. Louis University High School in 1972. Tony received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1976, spent the following year designing bridges for the Tennessee Department of Transportation, then received his Juris Doctoris from St. Louis University School of Law in 1980.

Tony and his wife Maryrose are active members of St. Justin the Martyr Church, where Tony served on the school board, chaired the parish fall festival and coached many of his children’s sports teams. Tony and Maryrose have seven children: Christopher, Maria, Katie, Matt, Annmarie, Josie and Tommy.
