Q: What inspired you to become a trial lawyer?
A: Growing up in Missouri, I saw how hard-working families often struggled when accidents or workplace injuries turned their lives upside down. I knew early on that I wanted to be an advocate for people who don’t always have the power or resources to fight back. That mission still drives me today.
Q: What sets your practice apart in workers’ compensation and personal injury law?
A: Experience matters. For more than two decades, I’ve handled cases ranging from routine workplace injuries to catastrophic, life-changing accidents. That depth of knowledge helps me anticipate challenges and build strategies that get results. But what truly sets us apart is how personally we treat every client—we make sure they feel heard and supported through the entire process.
Q: What’s your philosophy when representing clients?
A: It comes down to two things: honesty and persistence. I don’t sugarcoat things—I give clients a clear picture of their case, the hurdles we may face, and the options available. And once we take on a case, we don’t back down. We fight until our clients receive the justice and compensation they deserve.
Q: What do you find most rewarding about your work?
A: The most rewarding part is seeing the relief on a client’s face when their case is resolved. Whether it’s securing benefits that cover medical care or winning a verdict that provides long-term stability, knowing that we made a real difference in someone’s life is incredibly fulfilling.
Q: How do you view your role as a leader at The Bruning Law Firm?
A: My role is to set the standard—for our team and for our clients. I mentor younger attorneys, make sure our firm is always upholding the highest standards of advocacy, and push us to stay innovative in how we handle cases. At the end of the day, leadership means making sure every client gets our very best.
