Biography

Anne-Sophie Godbout is an associate in the Corporate/Commercial group in our Québec City office, where her practice focuses on the emerging technology sector. In her practice, Anne-Sophie advises clients on a broad range of complex business matters, including mergers and acquisitions, institutional investment, real estate partnerships and commercial contracts. She offers tailored guidance and support to emerging companies at every stage, from incorporation to exit.

In addition to practising transactional law, she has developed extensive knowledge in the fintech (financial technology), blockchain and emerging technology sectors. Anne-Sophie contributed to the book Comment la chaîne de blocs va transformer le droit? and wrote her master’s thesis on the legal nature of the tokens issued through blockchain technology. In 2021 and 2022, she was a lecturer in the microlearning program (nanoprogramme) at Université Laval where she taught a course on blockchain technology.
