Biography

Anne Baroody is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. She focuses her practice on complex business disputes and franchise disputes before federal and state courts and alternative dispute resolution bodies. She enjoys guiding clients in numerous industries through franchise and distribution disputes, commercial contract disputes, business tort and unfair competition disputes, and trademark and branding disputes. While her prior clerkship experience helps her adeptly navigate federal and state courts, Anne also works hard to find pre-litigation and negotiated solutions for her clients. In every matter, she channels her analytical style and attention to detail to develop and highlight the strengths of her client’s case.

Anne represents franchisors in multiple industries (including hospitality and quick service restaurants) in a variety of litigation matters, including resolving disputes with franchisees, defending putative class action litigation, enforcing intellectual property rights, and advising on system-wide initiatives. Anne is the chair of the Franchise & Distribution Law Section of the Georgia State Bar and is serving in senior leadership with the American Bar Association’s Forum on Franchising.

Anne’s broader commercial and business litigation experience includes cases involving commercial contracts, business torts and unfair competition claims; IP and branding litigation (including disputes involving trademarks, trade secrets, and non-compete agreements); M&A and earn-out disputes; securities arbitration; warranties and remedies in commercial and industrial supply, manufacturing, and other procurement relationships; and insurance coverage and recovery disputes. Anne has represented businesses and individuals in numerous industries, including hospitality, quick and full-service restaurants, health and fitness, healthcare, financial and insurance services, emerging technologies, industrial products and equipment, shipping and logistics, and commercial real estate.
