Over the past decade, she has become a “go to” legal resource for the higher education industry – serving such prestigious Chicago institutions as the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, DePaul University, and Roosevelt University. In the wake of a recent widely-publicized case in which she, as co-lead trial attorney, secured a unanimous NRLB decision dismissing a unionization petition brought by football players at Northwestern University, Wermuth has served as chief negotiator representing several high-profile schools in their collective bargaining negotiations with adjunct faculty and police officers. She also represents universities in union organizing campaigns and strategic planning efforts to address, for example, the recent nationwide push by the Service Employees National Union (SEIU) and other unions to organize adjunct faculty.
