Biography

Grounded in a strong technical foundation in Mechanical Engineering, Andrew brings analytical thinking and complex problem solving to his patent and trademark prosecution and litigation practice. While pursuing his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering, he served as a research assistant focusing on computational fluid dynamics and the study of combustion properties of solid fuel rockets. He also gained valuable experience working in patent research and competitive analysis for a major health and nutrition company. These experiences gave Andrew a deep appreciation for the importance of identifying and protecting intellectual property assets and a firsthand understanding of the challenges companies face in bringing new technologies to market.

His patent practice encompasses practical and strategic counsel across a wide variety of topics in the manufacturing and mechanical industry, including the preparation of patentability, freedom to operate, infringement, and validity opinions. Beyond patent drafting and prosecution, Andrew advises clients on contractual IP matters and contributes to the development of litigation strategy and the preparation of written arguments and opinions.

On the trademark side, Andrew provides counsel throughout the entire trademark lifecycle, from clearance through prosecution and enforcement. He regularly performs trademark clearance searches, delivers availability opinions, and prepares and files trademark applications, ensuring that his clients' brands receive the same strategic attention and protection as their innovations.
