Andrew works with individuals and families to develop estate plans that reflect their personal, financial, and long-term goals while addressing tax considerations. His experience includes preparing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advanced estate and gift tax planning strategies designed to support the orderly transfer of wealth and business interests across generations. He understands the importance of succession planning and tailors each estate plan to the unique circumstances of the client.
In his trusts and estates practice, Andrew assists clients with probate administration, trust administration, and estate settlement matters following the death of a loved one. He guides personal representatives, trustees, and beneficiaries through the legal and administrative process while helping ensure compliance with Nebraska law and the wishes expressed in estate planning documents. Andrew also represents clients in disputes involving trusts and estates.
Andrew regularly advises clients regarding guardianship and conservatorship matters involving aging family members, individuals with disabilities, and situations involving incapacity. He assists clients through court proceedings, fiduciary responsibilities, and ongoing administration requirements associated with guardianships and conservatorships.
In addition to his estate planning and fiduciary practice, Andrew counsels business owners on entity selection, governance, operational matters, and ownership transitions. He routinely prepares buy-sell agreements and advises clients on business succession planning, including the transfer of ownership interests to future generations or other successors.
Before joining Erickson Sederstrom, Andrew worked for a “big four” audit, tax, and advisory firm, where he focused on federal and state income taxation for corporations and pass-through entities. His tax background allows him to assist clients with a variety of complex tax matters, including like-kind exchanges, tax-free reorganizations, business liquidations, nexus issues, investments in controlled foreign corporations, investments in passive foreign investment companies, and representation before the Internal Revenue Service.
