Professor Dr Andreas Steininger is working for BEITEN BURKHARDT’s Moscow office and is member of the IP/IT/Media practice proup. Prof Dr Steininger’s core activities include consulting on the protection of intellectual property rights, corporate law together with the law of the countries of Eastern Europe, in particular Russian civil and corporate law. As Dr Steininger is by education not only a lawyer, but also an engineer, he specialises in legal issues, the resolution of which requires knowledge in the area of technology.
Professor Dr Steininger studied law at the University of Bonn, and also physics/mechanics at the University of Bonn and at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In June 2001 Prof Dr Steininger was admitted to practice law. Prof Dr Steininger started his career at the international company Simmons & Simmons, where he worked as an advocate and lead lawyer on a project related to the opening of the representative office of the Agency for Economic Development of the Land of North Rhine Westphalia in Moscow (2003). In 2003, Prof Dr Steininger became Senior Legal Expert on issues of criminal and civil law as part of a project for the reform and modernization of Azerbaijan’s legal system, implemented within the framework of the ?U TACIS program (Technical aid for the CIS) in Baku (Azerbaijan). In 2005 he joined Noerr Stiefenhofer Lutz in Moscow. In 2008 Prof Dr Steininger defended his research work for candidate for professor of economic law at the high school of Wismar. In addition to the research, Prof Dr Steininger was Of Counsel at Rödl & Partner. In 2009, together with Minister of Economics Dr. Wolfgang Clement, Prof Dr Steininger established the Institute of Law, Economics and Trade in Countries Bordering on the Baltic Sea, Wismar. Prof Dr Steininger has been working for BEITEN BURKHARDT since 2011.
