Dr Andreas Rodin is a founding partner of POELLATH (former P+P Pöllath + Partners). He is the head of POELLATH's fund structuring practice area. He has practised in this area since 1986 when private equity activities started in Germany and is thus one of the most experienced tax and private funds experts in the market.
He pursues a full-service approach and advises domestic and international private equity firms on legal, tax, and regulatory matters relating to inbound and outbound structuring cases, as well as initiators and investors on global fund investments. His advice also includes alternative investments, global fund investments including the regulatory and tax aspects, AIFM/KAGB. He also specializes in asset management and secondary transactions.
Andreas is well recognised by independent rankings as one of Germany's leading senior fund formation and tax advisors.
He was a member of the Board of Directors of the German Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVK e.V., 04/2009-06/2013; 06/2017-06/2020), responsible for legal and tax matters affecting the German private equity industry. In such capacity he has prepared all BVK submissions to the German federal finance ministry in connection with the transposition of AIFMD into German domestic law and the corresponding amendments to the Investment Fund Tax Act.
Since 2004, he has been invited by parliament's finance committee to contribute as an expert to all private equity-related legislation.
His publications include numerous articles on taxation of investments, speeches and papers to national and international conferences and seminars on private investment funds.
