Amy A. Stawski is a shareholder with Kemp Klein in Troy, Michigan. She has more than 20 years of legal experience representing individuals in Family Law matters and appellate litigation. Her practice focuses on complex domestic relations matters, including divorce, annulment, separate maintenance, paternity, child custody, change of domicile, parenting time, child support, spousal support (alimony), division of marital property, grandparenting time, and related appeals. She also handles cases involving international child custody issues under The Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of Child Abduction.
Ms. Stawski works with clients through every stage of family law disputes, from negotiation and settlement to litigation and appeals. She advises clients on sensitive legal matters arising from marriage, divorce, and custody while focusing on practical strategies that address both legal and personal considerations. Her appellate background allows her to analyze trial court decisions and present arguments before appellate courts when necessary.
Before entering private practice, Ms. Stawski served as a law clerk to the Honorable Martin M. Doctoroff from 1987 to 1988 and as a research attorney for the Michigan Court of Appeals from 1986 to 1987. These roles provided early experience with Michigan court procedures and appellate review. She has also authored articles addressing issues related to family law.
