Biography
Amlan Ray's practice is concentrated on patent counseling and litigation with an emphasis on pharmaceutical patent matters arising under the Hatch-Waxman Act.
Amlan represents prominent generic pharmaceutical companies on a wide range of matters such as developing strategies for paragraph IV challenges to Orange Book patents, analyzing patent portfolio for potential product acquisition and evaluating patents for a diverse range of technical areas such as molecule challenge, chemical process analysis and medicinal chemistry, formulation and polymorph issues.
He has extensive experience in client counseling and drafting legal opinions on issues regarding patentability, infringement analysis, due diligence and freedom-to-operate. While he was a Graduate Assistant at Rutgers University, he conducted research in the field of homogeneous catalysis for small molecule functionalization and polymer modification.
