Amanda Gilbert is a family law attorney at Selzer Gurvitch in Bethesda, Maryland. She represents clients in a wide range of family law matters, including separation, divorce, child custody, adoption and assisted reproductive technology. Amanda’s practice includes Collaborative Law: Family Law, Family Law and Family Law Mediation. As a trained mediator and Collaborative practitioner, she frequently helps individuals and families resolve disputes outside of court through mediation and the Collaborative Process. She also serves as a private mediator and as a Court-appointed ADR Facilitator for domestic relations matters in the D.C. Superior Court.

In addition to her mediation and collaborative work, Amanda represents clients in litigation when court intervention is necessary. Drawing on her background in complex litigation and family law, she advocates for practical resolutions while remaining focused on minimizing unnecessary conflict and expense. She has represented clients in trial and appellate courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Amanda remains active in the family law and dispute resolution community. She is a past president of the D.C. Academy of Collaborative Professionals (DCACP) and currently serves on the board of Collaborative Dispute Resolution Professionals (CDRP). Through these organizations, she supports the continued development and use of collaborative dispute resolution in family law matters.

Amanda has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for her work in Family Law, Family Law Mediation and Collaborative Law: Family Law. In 2024, she was named to The Daily Record’s Family Law Power List and was recognized by Bethesda Magazine in 2025.

Amanda earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and received her B.A., with honors, in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. She is licensed to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
