Amanda P. Cohen

Amanda Cohen is a labour and employment lawyer in Hicks Morley’s Toronto office. She provides advice and representation to employers and management in both the private and public sectors on a wide range of labour, employment and human rights issues.

Since joining the firm as an associate, Amanda has devoted significant time advising and representing clients on matters arising in unionized workplaces, and has developed particular expertise in the healthcare and municipal sectors. Amanda provides strategic advice and representation with respect to rights arbitrations, collective bargaining and human rights issues, and she regularly represents employers in interest arbitrations. She also negotiates reasonable settlements of wrongful dismissals on behalf of hospitals, municipalities, financial-sector clients and private companies and she is a frequent speaker on human resources law, particularly with respect to current developments, human rights issues and legislative changes.

Amanda received her Juris Doctor from Queen's University. Before attending law school, Amanda received a Bachelor of Science degree (Honours with Distinction) from the University of Guelph. Amanda summered and articled with the firm before returning as an associate in 2018.
