Amanda Ovaici is a lawyer at OP Lawyers LLP in Calgary, Alberta, with a practice focused on Family Law, Employment Law, Civil Litigation, and Corporate and Commercial Litigation. As a first-generation Canadian woman, Amanda brings a practical and client-focused approach to her work, shaped by her diverse professional background in law, business development, and entrepreneurship.
Amanda earned an Honours degree in Philosophy with a Business minor from the University of Calgary before completing her law degree at the University of Southampton in England. Prior to entering the legal profession, she worked in marketing and business development, experiences that continue to inform her understanding of the legal and operational challenges faced by businesses and individuals alike.
Called to the Alberta Bar in 2020, Amanda represents clients in a broad range of matters involving family disputes, workplace issues, civil litigation, and corporate and commercial litigation. Her work includes assisting business owners, professionals, and individuals with resolving disputes, navigating negotiations, and addressing complex legal matters with clear communication and strategic guidance. Amanda’s background working alongside an investor group involved in raising $25 million for Alberta Oil Sands projects also provided her with valuable experience in negotiations, business operations, and corporate matters.
While studying in England, Amanda contributed to initiatives connected to the European Union’s animal welfare program, reflecting her longstanding interest in advocacy and community engagement. She remains committed to supporting individuals facing systemic barriers and values building strong, lasting relationships with her clients based on trust, responsiveness, and professionalism.
Outside of her legal practice, Amanda is actively involved in Calgary’s entrepreneurial and community spaces. She co-founded FuckUp Nights YYC, a community-driven event series that encourages open conversations about business challenges, resilience, and growth within the entrepreneurial community.
Amanda is also one of the founders of Café Alchemist, a Calgary café inspired by global travel and cultural connection. The project reflects her passion for creating welcoming spaces that bring people together.
In addition, Amanda serves as a Board Member with CICBA, where she contributes to discussions and initiatives related to economic development and housing solutions in Calgary.
Outside the office, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, and exploring new experiences. Her adventurous spirit and entrepreneurial mindset continue to shape both her professional and personal pursuits.
