Biography
Alyson Zureick’s practice focuses on resolution of complex international and cross-border disputes, including at all levels of state and federal courts and in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration. Ms. Zureick has particular experience in litigation and counseling involving issues under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act (FSIA) and other complex federal statutes such as the Administrative Procedure Act, the Federal Arbitration Act, and federal securities laws. Her recent representations include successfully defending a US-based oil drilling company against a motion to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction under the FSIA brought by Venezuela’s state-owned oil company and representing a client who was formerly held hostage by Iran and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp and his family in seeking damages under the FSIA’s terrorism exception.
