Alison H. Krueger

Attorney Alison Krueger has focused her legal career on Family Law since earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1999. She is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is a member of Nelson, Krueger & Millenbach LLC. Attorney Krueger represents individuals and families throughout Wisconsin in a broad range of Family Law matters, including divorce, legal separation, annulment, paternity, child support, maintenance (alimony), grandparent visitation, post-judgment modifications, and enforcement issues.

In addition to litigation and negotiation, Attorney Krueger maintains an active practice in Family Law Mediation. She is a certified divorce mediator and regularly assists clients through both facilitated divorce mediation and evaluative mediation. Her mediation practice offers families an alternative dispute resolution process designed to reduce conflict, encourage communication, and support informed decision-making, while remaining prepared to proceed in court when necessary.

Attorney Krueger earned her Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, where she studied psychology and mass communications. Her interest in matters affecting children and families developed early through her work as a child advocate intern at New Horizon’s Shelter for Battered Women and Children. She also gained international legal experience while studying and working abroad, including serving as a law clerk in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she received the Bank of Scotland Award for Excellence, and completing legal studies in Cambridge, England.

Prior to completing law school, Attorney Krueger worked in Madison, Wisconsin, lobbying for health care reform and patient privacy with the Center for Public Representation. This background continues to shape her practical and client-focused approach to Family Law representation and mediation.

Throughout her practice, Attorney Krueger emphasizes cooperation, preparation, and problem-solving. She works closely with clients, opposing counsel, and financial and mental health professionals to pursue practical outcomes tailored to each family’s needs. Her dedicated focus on Family Law allows her to remain current on Wisconsin statutes, case law, and court procedures affecting families in Milwaukee and across the state.
