Biography

For more than 25 years, Alexandre has represented individuals who have suffered serious injuries resulting from medical negligence, accidents, or other wrongful conduct.

He has rare depth of experience in assessing, proving, and securing the full compensation to which his clients may be entitled, including compensation for loss of income and the cost of lifelong care, as well as recognition of the profound personal impact that serious injuries can have on individuals and their families.

His work has earned him numerous professional distinctions and has enabled him to recover tens of millions of dollars in compensation for his clients over the years. Alexandre's work has been recognized by Best Lawyers for several years and he was awarded in 2027 Best Lawyers' Lawyer of the Year award for his work in Personal Injury in Montreal.

Clients have entrusted him with matters spanning a wide range of fields, including obstetrics, anesthesiology, surgery, endocrinology, radiology, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, otolaryngology, and interventional radiology. He has also successfully handled cases involving falls, amputations, burns, defective products, boating, skiing, and swimming accidents, poisoning, and injuries sustained in bars and other licensed establishments.

Alexandre takes pride in offering a personalized approach to every mandate, and is committed to ensuring that clients understand and feel comfortable with each stage of the claims process. He frequently works on a contingency fee basis, meaning clients owe no fees unless and until they recover compensation.

He also acts on behalf of insurers in subrogated claims involving complex technical or scientific issues, as well as in insurance-related disputes and a broad range of civil litigation matters.

In addition, Alexandre is involved in large-scale class actions, with a particular interest in constitutional rights and Indigenous law matters.

Q&A

Personal injury and medical malpractice litigation have been part of my DNA for over 25 years.

Not only have I practiced in these areas since the beginning of my career, but I have done so in a storied boutique firm founded a century ago, in 1926, that has itself been at the forefront of these areas for decades.

Over the years, my partners and I have accumulated landmark judgments and record-setting settlements for our clients, all the while making sure that they would be at ease and comfortable with the entire litigation process.

There is no better feeling than obtaining for a family an indemnity that will ensure that their loved-ones are properly compensated and that they will receive all of the care that they require, for the rest of their lives.

Knowing that our work can change the course of a life is the reason we do what we do.

Q: How much will this cost me?

A: Since we work on a contigency, our clients only pay us a percentage of what we recover for them. No win or settlement = no fee to pay.

Q: How long do I have to file a claim?

A: In Quebec, the general rule is that you have a delay of 3 years from the moment of the incident to file a court proceeding claiming damages. It is important to remember that there are exceptions to this rule, and that the delay can be shorter in some cases. This is why you should communicate with an attorney as soon as possible after an injury occurs.

Q: What can I claim if I am injured?

A: You are allowed to be compensated for all financial losses you have suffered, which includes past and future loss of income, cost of lifelong care and any relevant disbursements that you may have incurred in connection with your injury. You are also entitled to be compensated for your non pecuniary, or "moral", damages, whcih represents all of the pain, suffering, anxiety and frustrations you may have had as a result of your injury. Such moral damages are however capped at amount that, in 2026, was approximately CAD$450,000.

I love cooking, playing pickleball with friends, hiking or trekking vacations and, most of all, spending time with my family.
