Alexander Hobbs is an International Trade Counsel in the Ottawa Office of Cassidy Levy Kent advising businesses and governments on international trade, economic sanctions and export controls, competition law, and government procurement matters.
Mr. Hobbs represents clients before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, the Canada Border Services Agency, international and internal trade panels, and the Federal Courts of Canada. He has worked with public and private clients on international trade, procurement, and investment issues and disputes under several of Canada’s international trade treaties, including the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement, the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, and the Canada-Korea Free Trade Agreement.
Mr. Hobbs holds a Juris Doctor degree with a concentration in international law from the University of Ottawa, where he received the Gowling WLG award for the highest standing in international trade law, as well as a master’s degree in international economic policy from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs.
