Alex P. Jacobs joined Pircher in 2003 and is the youngest member of the firm’s Executive Committee, overseeing the practice at the highest level and implementing firm-wide initiatives. In this role, he was integral to the recruitment and hire of partners from Sidley Austin LLP to support the formation of Pircher’s institutional lending group. He’s maintained a roster of top-tier clients over the years which has included Equinix, Inc., Starwood Capital Group, The Yucaipa Companies and Vornado Realty Trust, among others. Jacobs’ practice focuses on development, as he is well-versed in development management agreements with buyers and the complex issues that may arise. With a specific expertise in hospitality, Jacobs has also effectively negotiated hotel management agreements with national brands and boutique operators for hotels across the country. Jacobs often engages both sides of transactions involving homebuilders as well and has completed sales contracts with nearly all major homebuilders nationwide. Additionally, his work has included a number of joint venture acquisitions in opportunity zones in recent months. Jacobs’ full practice includes sophisticated real estate transactions, including the representation of private and institutional investors, and owners and developers in connection with the acquisition, disposition, development and financing of commercial real estate properties, with an emphasis on the negotiation and structuring of complex joint venture agreements. His experience includes a wide range of asset types, such as land for residential development, retail properties, office buildings and hospitality projects. Jacobs was recognized for his work as a Super Lawyers’ Southern California Rising Star consistently for a decade (2006-2016). In 2019, he was included by Best Lawyers® in the 2020 edition of The Best Lawyers in America© in the category of Real Estate Law and named a nominee in Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Leaders in Law.” He has also been actively involved in advancing the industry through his role on the Planning Committee for USC Gould’s Real Estate Law and Business Forum.
