Aleksandar Jovanovic is a partner in the Litigation and Construction Law Groups at Torkin Manes LLP in Toronto, Ontario. He represents clients in a wide range of commercial litigation and construction law matters, with a practice focused on resolving complex disputes through negotiation, arbitration and litigation.
Aleksandar acts for developers, general contractors, trade contractors, businesses and homeowners in matters involving construction liens, delay claims, contractual disputes, oppression claims, deficiency disputes and other high-value commercial and construction-related proceedings. He regularly appears before arbitral tribunals and all levels of court in Ontario.
Known for his practical and business-minded approach, Aleksandar works closely with clients to develop effective strategies that align with their legal and commercial objectives. His experience includes matters involving residential high-rise condominium developments, subsurface site condition disputes, major renovations and new-build construction projects.
In addition to his advocacy work, Aleksandar co-authored the Canadian chapter of the international publication, “Finding, Freezing and Attaching Assets: A Multi-Jurisdictional Handbook”. He is also committed to community involvement and regularly participates in charitable initiatives, including the Sporting Life 10K, the Run for the Cure and volunteer programs through Ve’ahavta.
