Recognized in Best Lawyers since 2024 Alejandra Gutiérrez is a Partner with over 15 years of experience advising domestic and international companies on matters in Mexico. She leads the firm’s real estate practice and has a multidisciplinary background that includes corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and ESG-related matters.
Her practice focuses on real estate transactions, particularly within the hospitality and tourism sector, where she has advised on complex projects involving the development, structuring and operation of tourism and mixed-use projects. Her experience includes advising on tourism, commercial, industrial and residential developments, as well as the implementation of condominium regimes, timeshare structures and special purpose vehicles.
She has also participated in cross-border M&A transactions with real estate components, advising clients on acquisitions, joint ventures and the implementation of investment structures in Mexico. Her work regularly involves the negotiation of key transactional documents, including purchase agreements, leases, trusts, mortgages and financing arrangements.
In addition, she has broad experience in corporate governance matters and in the organization and maintenance of domestic and foreign entities, including ongoing corporate and regulatory compliance matters.
Prior to joining the firm, she was a senior associate at Ibarra, del Paso y Gallego, where she was named partner in 2023. She also worked at Grupo Televisa and at Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, S.C.
She obtained her law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and holds an LL.M. in Commercial Law from the University of Edinburgh. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has advanced knowledge of Italian, which supports her work with international clients.
