Aldo Ocampo is a highly experienced solicitor with over 35 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance law in Mexico. He is a senior partner at the firm and is recognised for his strategic advice to insurers and reinsurers, as well as his involvement in the resolution of complex, high-impact disputes and litigation.

Since joining the firm in 1991, he has led the advisory services for insurers, reinsurers and companies in key sectors in some of the most significant cases in the national insurance market. His practice focuses on designing legal strategies to deal with large-scale claims, complex litigation and high-value disputes, particularly in the financial, energy and oil industries.

Throughout his career, he has represented national and international companies such as Mapfre Mexico, ING, Barents Re, QBE Re, Tokio Marine, Pan American Life Insurance Group, Zurich Santander, Cardif, Seguros Monterrey New York Life, among others.

He has been involved in some of the most significant cases in the insurance sector in Mexico, including the Fertinal case, considered one of the largest and most complex insurance litigations in the country, as well as the Abkatun cases, related to two accidents on PEMEX oil platforms with an approximate value of 1.5 billion dollars.

He is also currently involved in litigation concerning civil liability cases involving the CFE, defending claims worth billions of pesos, as well as representing insurance companies in strategic litigation related to human rights.

Due to his track record and leadership in the sector, Aldo has been recognised for more than 10 consecutive years by leading international legal directories, including The Legal 500, Chambers & Partners, Best Lawyers, Leaders League and Top Ranked.

In 2023, he was honoured at The Legal 500's Mexico Awards with the "Lawyer of the Year – Insurance" award. He has been nominated for the same award in 2024, 2025 and 2026.

Aldo holds a law degree from the Universidad Anáhuac del Sur and has completed postgraduate studies at the Universidad Panamericana, the University of Salamanca (Spain) and the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). He teaches insurance and civil liability at the Escuela Libre de Derecho and IMESFAC. He is an international lecturer on insurance and reinsurance.
