Participated in the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property work group to amend Mexico’s Industrial Property Law (1999-2000) and to introduce a bill to amend the Industrial Property Law to reduce the time needed by intellectual property owners to obtain damages.
ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Professor of constitutional proceedings, Universidad Anáhuac del Norte, Mexico City (1994-1995).
Extensive experience in administrative and federal court litigation and intangible rights protection in matters of unconstitutional laws and acts of authority.
Has developed strategies to compensate patent lost time due to red tape delays; has obtained court opinions on unconstitutional provisions of the Industrial Property Law in the process of defending trademark rights, which have been featured by the Reforma newspaper; has successfully defended domain names in international forums, including the World Intellectual Property Organization (“WIPO”).
