Adam F. Haimo is a Partner in the Fort Lauderdale office of Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP. He is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Florida Bar. Prior to joining the firm, Adam practiced in the civil litigation group in the Miami office of a well respected South Florida law firm. Mr. Haimo practices in all areas of civil litigation with a focus on the construction and real estate investment industry. His extensive litigation experience includes complex commercial litigation, real estate, construction litigation, banking litigation, construction defect and delay cases, toxic mold litigation, and other civil matters involving real estate. His experience also includes litigation of business torts, breach of contract and tortious interference.

Adam’s representation includes developers, contractors, subcontractors, architects and engineers in the preparation and negotiation of construction contracts utilizing traditional and non-traditional delivery systems (Design-Build, CM, CM at risk, Stipulated Sum and Cost Plus GMP). He drafts, reviews and negotiates contracts for owners, contractors and architects, as well as litigates issues that arise from such contracts, including construction defect, surety claims and lien claims. Adam has also been called upon by various entities, including Lloyd’s of London syndicates, market companies and runoff companies to represent their interests with regard to reinsurance disputes throughout the United States.

Adam is consistently recognized by Legal publications including Chambers USA and the South Florida Legal Guide. He was also honored by being listed on the 2021 Florida Super Lawyers and 2022 Best Lawyers lists.
