When our founder, Roger Oatley, left one of Canada’s largest law firms in 1974 to establish what is now Oatley Vigmond, he set out with two guiding principles: to create a workplace that is engaging and fulfilling, and to maintain a high standard of legal practice grounded in care, preparation, and integrity.

Roger Oatley is a past president of the Advocates’ Society, and Jim Vigmond is a past president of the Ontario Trial Lawyers’ Association. Both Roger and Jim are Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an invitation extended to experienced trial lawyers whose careers reflect ethical conduct, professionalism, civility, and collegiality. We also contribute time and effort to the ongoing development of our profession.
