5 The Best Lawyers in Canada awards

Loopstra Nixon LLP is a full-service business and public law firm which uniquely couples the collegiality and work environment of a smaller firm with the talent level, service quality and breadth of practice often associated with much larger ones. We have over forty-five years’ experience serving a wide range of clients involved in business and finance, litigation and dispute resolution, municipal law, land use planning and development, and commercial real estate.

The firm was formed in 1973 when Charles Loopstra left the firm of Luck Harris and Belyea with law student John (Sandy) Nixon, who became a partner upon his call to the bar. The pair started the Firm as a general storefront law practice in Etobicoke, but with aspirations from the outset to establish a major presence in Ontario.

Our 50+ lawyer firm serves clients including major financial institutions, insurance companies, municipal governments, real estate developers and corporate organizations, We are the Canadian affiliate of LawExchange International, an established network of 34 independent law firms serving business clients throughout Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Australia.
