Monsanto Roundup Lawsuit

Monsanto, a biochemical subsidiary of the pharmaceutical company Bayer, sells the world’s most commonly-used herbicide: Roundup. Recently, glyphosate, a toxic active ingredient in Roundup has led to a series of investigations and lawsuits. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, which is part of the World Health Organization, glyphosate has been deemed a probable cause of cancer.

In fact, studies show that prostate cancer is more prevalent in communities with high use of Roundup. Research also links breast cancer to Roundup, because increased exposure to glyphosate can lead to mammary tumors. Furthermore, studies indicate a relationship between Roundup and brain cancer, because parental exposure to glyphosate two years prior to a child’s birth can significantly increase the risk of the child developing brain cancer. Moreover, people with the highest exposure to glyphosate have a 41% higher risk of developing non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.

Roundup Lawsuit Attorneys

As a result, over 13,000 plaintiffs, all of whom are Roundup-induced cancer victims or related to these victims, filed suit against Monsanto. The plaintiffs allege Monsanto engaged in a variety of duplicitous strategies to conceal the dangers of its herbicide, including conspiring with regulatory agencies, falsifying scientific research with ghostwritten studies, and employing outside entities to advertise the safety of Roundup while ensuring these organizations and individuals falsely seemed to be acting independently of Monsanto. Out of these thousands of cases, so far three cases, all of which took place in California, resulted in verdict total upwards of $2.21 billion. You need a roundup lawsuit attorney.

Have There Been Lawsuits and Trials For Roundup & Cancer?

Yes, as of this writing, there are over 18,000 people involved in lawsuits relating to Roundup and only 3 so far have been to trial. 100% of the 3 trials resulted in substantial jury awards to the total of over $2 billion dollars. One of these awards was reduced and all may be subject to appeal and/or changes in the amounts ultimately awarded to plaintiffs. Roundup has been used extensively by home gardeners, large scale farmers, groundskeepers and others. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with lymphoma or a related cancer and used roundup or other glyphosate weed killer products, contact us to see if you qualify to join the lawsuit for potential compensation.

In Roundup cancer lawsuits, plaintiffs are alleging that the maker of Roundup, Monsanto, is responsible for their suffering due to false advertisement and failure to warn of the risks posed by their product. Moreover, Monsanto must face the allegation that they fought for decades the probable link between Roundup and cancer, and must account for their actions in obtaining safety studies, relating to Roundup, where data was found to be falsified. – source round-up-lawyerdotcom
