Thomson Rogers maintains a robust litigation practice across multiple practice areas, including a full range of plaintiff personal injury claims such as disputes related to catastrophic accidents, medical malpractice, product liability and class actions. In addition, its LTD lawyers are regularly featured in the media after recently winning a significant case against a client’s insurer.

Summary
  • Thomson Rogers, established in 1935, delivers successful outcomes in complex litigation matters across Ontario, specializing in plaintiff personal injury claims and other practice areas.
  • The law firm's personal injury and medical malpractice cases include significant victories such as a record $1.5 million award in a long-term disability lawsuit.
  • Maintain your legal strategy advantage with certified civil litigation specialists who are frequently recognized for their professionalism and client service.
  • Explore Thomson Rogers' client-centered advocacy and its continuous evolution in brand and service delivery, which makes a compelling case for partnering with them.

Extensive Personal Injury Trial Experience

Thomson Rogers’ personal injury litigators are well known for helping clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries due to the negligence of others. This helps to level the playing field against well-funded insurance companies and other defendants.

In one of Thomson Rogers’ high-profile cases, a client was awarded a record-high $1.5 million in punitive damages in their lawsuit against their long-term disability benefits insurer. A Toronto jury decided the dispute in the client’s favor after a five-week trial and awarded full payment of benefits from the date of denial to trial. It is the largest standing “punitive” and “aggravated” damages amount awarded by a jury against a long-term disability insurance company.

After arguing a lengthy and complicated trial, Thomson Rogers’ medical malpractice lawyers were recently successful in obtaining a judgment in favor of their client who was left with catastrophic brain damage following a medical procedure.
