3M and Plaintiff's Counsel: A $6 Billion Settlement Agreement

3M and plaintiff's counsel have achieved a landmark moment with a $6 billion settlement agreement benefitting the 300,000 military users of 3M's defective earplugs. The settlement's fate now rests with the courts, but if approved, it will provide vital compensation to veterans who have suffered hearing loss or related damages due to the use of these earplugs.

How to File a Claim

Veterans who used 3M's earplugs and experienced hearing loss or related issues can potentially file a claim under this settlement. To initiate a claim, certain criteria must be met:

  1. Documentation: Veterans must have filed an official report concerning their hearing problems with their commanding officer or an appropriate military official.

  2. Discharge Date: Additionally, veterans must have been discharged from the military prior to October 2019.

The Claims Period Nears Its End

Time is of the essence; the claims period for this settlement is drawing to a close, with finalization expected as early as the beginning of 2023. For those who have not yet initiated a claim but meet the eligibility criteria, swift action is strongly advised.
