E-Verify Update: Managing Point of Contact (POC) Information

As of January 5, E-Verify restored a feature that allows employers to manage Point of Contact (POC) information directly within their accounts.

The update gives organizations greater flexibility in maintaining account information and supports compliance with E-Verify program requirements.

Why This Update Matters

Under the E-Verify Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), employers must maintain accurate and current contact information for individuals associated with their account.

Keeping POC information up to date can help organizations:

  • Maintain compliance with E-Verify requirements
  • Receive important notifications and program updates
  • Support timely communication related to account activity

What Users Can Now Do

With the restored feature, eligible users may manage POC information directly within the E-Verify system.

This includes the ability to:

  • Review existing contact information
  • Update outdated details
  • Add additional Points of Contact when appropriate

Who Can Manage POC Information

Access to POC management functions depends on the user’s role within the account.

  • Program administrators and corporate administrators may manage company POC information
  • General users associated with employer agent accounts may manage POC information for client companies

Adding an individual as a POC does not automatically provide that person with access to the E-Verify system.

Individuals who need to manage cases within E-Verify must also be assigned the appropriate user role, such as program administrator.

Important Reminders

  • The MOU Signatory is automatically listed as a POC and cannot be removed from the account
  • The signatory’s contact information may still be updated when necessary
  • If the original signatory is no longer with the organization, employers should confirm that at least one active and accurate POC remains on file

How to Access POC Information

Depending on account permissions, users may access and update POC information through the following sections of E-Verify:

  • Company Profile for program administrators
  • Corporate Profile for corporate administrators
  • Company Locations for location-specific information
  • Clients’ Menu for employer agents managing client accounts

Key Takeaway

Maintaining accurate POC information is an important part of E-Verify account management and ongoing compliance efforts.

The restored feature provides employers with a more direct way to review and update account contacts, helping reduce communication delays and administrative issues.

Organizations may wish to review their E-Verify accounts periodically to confirm that all Points of Contact and related account information remain current.
