For the 13th Edition of The Best Lawyers in Spain, Best Lawyers surveyed the nation's legal community to identify the top 2 percent of practicing lawyers in Spain. We've partnered with Confilegal—a digital news outlet covering legal news, law firms, and legal events—to provide breaking coverage of these results to the Spanish market.

Madrid was the top metropolitan area in terms of the number of lawyers recognized. Of the 78 practice areas recognized, the most searched was Tax Law, followed by Litigation, Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and Labor and Employment Law. On the other hand, Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions Law had the most number of practicing lawyers. Tax Law, Litigation, and Labor and Employment Law followed.

In this 2021 Edition, 20 law firms received the prestigious "Law Firm of the Year" award for excellence in a specific practice area.
