The Best Lawyers in Portugal, now in its 11th year, surveyed the most respected members of the legal community to produce a definitive guide to the nation's top lawyers and firms. In this edition, Best Lawyers recognized an elite top 2 percent of practicing lawyers in Portugal.

In the 2021 Edition, the metropolitan area with the most lawyers recognized was Lisbon. Tax Law was the most-searched practice area in Portugal on Best Lawyers, followed by Litigation, Real Estate Law, and Labor and Employment Law. The practice area that had the most recognized lawyers was Litigation. Corporate Law, Tax Law, and Mergers and Acquisitions Law were next to see the most growth in terms of the number of recognized lawyers in a specific field of law.

Fifteen law firms in Portugal received the prestigious "Law Firm of the Year" award in the 11th Edition.
