Now in its twelfth year, The Best Lawyers in Mexico employed an exhaustive peer-review methodology to honor the most regarded firms and lawyers in the country. This year, the Mexico City metropolitan area produced the greatest number of lawyers recognized out of the 10 metropolitan areas surveyed.

The most-searched practice area in Mexico on Best Lawyers was Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions Law, with Banking and Finance Law, Administrative Law, and Tax Law following. Real Estate Law notably featured the most recognized lawyers, followed by Tax Law, Labor and Employment Law, and Banking and Finance Law.

Mexico had 15 "Law Firm of the Year" awards in this edition, an honor given to a single firm for excellence in a specific practice area.
