2023 Best Lawyers in Mexico Awards

With the new year fast approaching, we are excited to announce the launch of the 2023 Best Lawyers awards for Mexico. These prestigious awards include honorees for The Best Lawyers in Mexico™, Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Mexico™, “Lawyer of the Year” and “Law Firm of the Year.”

We are thrilled to share that for this edition, we are partnering with Diario Financerio to highlight coverage of these exclusive awards.

This 2023 launch marks the 14th edition of The Best Lawyers in Mexico. This year, we recognize 1,517 lawyers across 65 practice areas and 12 metropolitan areas. Among these metropolitan areas, Mexico City has the most honorees. Along with these awards, we are also excited to announce 68 “Lawyer of the Year” honorees. "Lawyer of the Year" honors are awarded annually to only one lawyer per practice area in each region with extremely high overall feedback from their peers, making it an exceptional distinction.

For the very first time, we are thrilled to also announce the first edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Mexico. Eligibility for Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Mexico includes being in private practice and a tenure of three to eight years. With the same methodology that is used for The Best Lawyers in Mexico, our Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Mexico awards use an advanced process of nominations, peer voting and careful evaluation of results to highlight the top legal talent in the industry among newer lawyers. For the 2023 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Mexico, we recognize 160 lawyers in 21 practice areas. Lawyers are awarded in 32 firms across two metropolitan areas.
