The Preeminent Trial Lawyer: Benjamin Morelli

Decades in the courtroom have made Benedict Morelli a formidable opponent.

With the decline of trials as a central part of the legal system, fewer and fewer lawyers can provide the sort of meaningful courtroom experience that makes a difference in high-profile, catastrophic cases. But at Morelli Law Firm, Benedict Morelli has tried every kind of civil case.

$102 million verdict for a worker who was severely injured when he was caused to fall from a height at Live Nation’s Jones Beach Theater.”

“Trying cases has become a lost art because our world is based more on mediation and arbitration than litigation,” Morelli says. “But our firm is uniquely qualified to handle cases from start to finish, and we are not looking for a quick settlement at the expense of our clients. Our ability to successfully litigate cases allows us to take on any adversary, big or small.”

The firm’s notable verdicts include a $102 million verdict for a worker who was severely injured when he was caused to fall from a height at Live Nation’s Jones Beach Theater; a $95 million verdict in a sexual harassment trial (one of the largest single-plaintiff sexual harassment verdicts ever); a $62 million verdict in a construction accident involving a 20-year-old construction worker; a $22.5 million verdict for a polio vaccine case (one of the largest vaccine verdicts in U.S. history); and a $41 million verdict against the City of New York for a wrongful death case.

“I have been fighting for victims of corporate greed, incompetence, and negligence for decades, and I have no plans on slowing down,” Morelli says. “Even against tremendous odds, we continue to advocate for victims and their families in some of the country’s most challenging and high-profile personal injury cases.”

Morelli Law Firm is currently litigating several notable truck accident cases, which are a significant area for the firm after Morelli successfully represented Tracy Morgan when the comedian was severely injured in an accident involving a Walmart truck. Recently, members of the firm traveled to Southern Illinois and Baltimore, Maryland, to try major trucking cases, both of which settled during trial.

“Our opponents know that we never back down from a fight, and our record at trial is a significant factor in our ability to secure favorable settlements for our clients,” Morelli notes. “When injury victims come to us they have suffered a great deal and often have very few options. So we take great pride in helping them obtain the justice they desperately deserve and need.”
