The Best Lawyers in Switzerland Awards

For 2024, Best Lawyers is excited to announce the 14th edition of The Best Lawyers in Switzerland™, recognizing lawyers all across the country for their tremendous work in the legal industry. Through our Purely Peer Review™ methodology, Best Lawyers awards lawyers each year through a nomination, voter outreach and peer feedback process, honoring the country’s most elite legal talent.

In 1983, under the core principle that the best lawyers know who the best lawyers are, we began our humble process and now represent the top legal talent in 76 regions worldwide.

For the 2024 edition of The Best Lawyers in Switzerland, 726 lawyers in 51 practice areas have been awarded. Eleven metropolitan include awarded lawyers, with the most honorees in Zürich.

“Lawyer of the Year” Awards

The esteemed “Lawyer of the Year” awards, which distinguish one lawyer per practice area in each metropolitan area, honor 63 lawyers across Switzerland.

“Law Firm of the Year”

Best Lawyers always honors firms through the “Law Firm of the Year” awards, which recognize a single firm in a single practice area in Switzerland. These law firm awards are determined by individual lawyer feedback, the number of lawyers included in Best Lawyers for that firm and practice area, the number of office locations a firm has, historical analysis of the firm’s “Lawyer of the Year” awards, materials submitted by firms and the firm’s overall scope and areas of expertise. This year, Best Lawyers has awarded 10 law firms in 12 practice areas with the “Law Firm of the Year” award.
