For over 30 years, Bill Purdy has focused his practice on construction claims and disputes and on federal procurement law. Bill is among only a handful of lawyers in the country to be both an ACCL Fellow and also to be elected by his peers as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, which is limited to the top one percent of the best courtroom lawyers in the country. He is one of only two Mississippi lawyers with a “Band 1” (highest) rating in construction litigation by Chambers USA, the authoritative legal guide, which referred to Mr. Purdy as the “dean of the state’s construction lawyers”.

Mr. Purdy is a Master of the Bench (highest rating) of the central Mississippi chapter of the American Inns of Court and is a Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation. Bill was honored by a unanimous Joint Resolution of the Mississippi House and Senate as an “Outstanding Mississippian”. He has been consistently rated byMidSouth Super Lawyers as one of the “Top 50” Mississippi lawyers, without regard to practice specialty.

Bill is licensed to practice in all courts in Mississippi and in all federal courts, boards, and tribunals which decide federal government claims, contract disputes, and bid protests.

Before law school, Mr. Purdy served with the Marines in Vietnam as an infantry company commander. He was awarded the Bronze Star for valor in combat, the Purple Heart medal, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.

Client Comments

"I have worked with Bill for 20 years and have always believed that he gave us excellent representation. I see him as a member of our team -- almost an extension of our firm. Most of our work with Bill has been in the form of advice and review to stay out of trouble, and for that reason we seldom find ourselves a party to a civil action. I believe Bill to be the Dean of construction attorneys in this area. His hourly rates are a tad high for this region, but you're seldom paying for his study time -- he knows his business. He is very creative and will respond to how you want to be represented. He is a man of integrity."

"Although we do not have the need to contact Mr. Purdy, often we never feel a stranger in his presence. He extends invitations to attend workshops of interest to our business, which are greatly appreciated. Mr. Purdy treats our small business with genuine and mutual respect."

"Bill Purdy has represented our company for over 20 years and has been an invaluable part of our team. He is more than an attorney to us as we seek his counsel and guidance on any matter of significance (legal or otherwise) to us. He is fully responsive -- even reachable at work on Sunday afternoons at times. His dedication to clients, legal knowledge, work ethic, and oral and written communication skills are of the highest caliber. We have repeatedly referred others to him with very positive outcomes. We have always felt that the value of the service we receive from Bill exceeds the fees we pay. In short, Bill has been such an integral part of our team that we would not have enjoyed the success we have had without him."
