Terry M. Giebelstein joined Lane & Waterman in 1976 and primarily practices in the following areas: (i) commercial litigation and (ii) general business matters, including mergers and acquisitions, entity formation and planning and business contracts.

Terry is active in commercial litigation, including business contract disputes, banking matters, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, administrative hearings and eminent domain. He acted as co-counsel for the plaintiff classes in numerous class action lawsuits, including the Allied Mutual Insurance Company policyholders in the Allied Mutual DeFacto Demutualization class action and Iowa farmers in the Chubb Rain Insurance class action. He has also acted as Iowa trial counsel for two natural gas pipeline companies acquiring pipeline rights of way across the State of Iowa.
Terry is active in the Quad Cities community, having served Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport, Iowa in several officer capacities, including as Chairman of the Congregation and long-serving as a Board Member and President of Horizon Homes of Davenport, a non-profit housing organization.
Terry received his B.A. degree in 1974, with high distinction and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Iowa, and received his J.D. degree in 1976, with highest distinction and as a member of the Order of the Coif, from the University of Iowa. Terry was raised on an Iowa farm and resides in rural Scott County, Iowa.
