Steve Imbriglia is a trial lawyer whose practice focuses on defending companies in product-liability litigation. He defends manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. He also currently represents a publishing company and a medical communications company accused of conspiring with a drug manufacturer to downplay the risks of certain side effects.
For more than 20 years, Mr. Imbriglia has defended toxic-tort cases, such as those involving exposures to PCB's, benzene, beryllium, lead and asbestos. Mr. Imbriglia represents companies in mass-tort litigation and in individual lawsuits. In the former, he has acted as both national counsel and local counsel. He has spoken, and written articles about, Pennsylvania product-liability law, Daubert-Frye issues, class actions, expert witnesses and the defense of mass-tort litigation.
Mr. Imbriglia also defends product-related class actions, including a current putative class action brought against the manufacturer of an insulation material that allegedly "off-gases" and thereby causes personal injury and property damage.
A Philadelphia native, Mr. Imbriglia began his career in the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office before transitioning to civil litigation.
