Sergey Sitnikov is a co-founder of Causa Privata Law firm in Moscow. Before setting up a law firm of his own Mr. Sitnikov used to work as a Counsel at the Moscow office of a leading international law firm where he founded and headed IT Startup Practice, Climate Change and Energy Efficiency Practice and Environmental Practice. Mr. Sitnikov focuses primarily on Corporate and M&A, Natural Resources and Environmental matters. Mr. Sitnikov is a pioneer in advising on implementation of projects in the sphere of energy saving and energy efficiency, as well as projects involving the sale of carbon credits (including those under the Kyoto Protocol). He is a member of a special working group established by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development that is responsible for development and implementation of regulations in this sphere. Mr. Sitnikov has also a solid experience in advising on Compliance, Commercial Contracts, IT/Telecom and Startups including such matters as commerce and online commerce, payment processing solutions, mobile payment and mobile commerce and others.
Mr. Sitnikov has spoken on general corporate, energy efficiency and climate change-related issues in many international and national forums and conferences. He has authored and coauthored over twenty articles in national and international publications and a number of books. Mr. Sitnikov is also a Visiting Professor at Moscow State Institute of International Relationship (MGIMO), International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy.
