Marcia is a partner at Advocates. She has practiced exclusively in construction law and defense insurance for most of her career. She is involved in all aspects of construction law including contract negotiation, resolution of project disputes; construction claims litigation and construction liens. She primarily acts for mid to large sized general contractors engaged in the ICI Sector. With respect to her insurance defense practice, she deals primarily with claims arising out of or related to construction activities and professional liability claims of Engineers. Marcia is a frequent speaker at various Ontario Bar Association and Law Society of Upper Canada Continuing Legal Education Programs, and at various private sector programmes. Marcia also taught the Construction Law course at Fanshawe College in the Construction Project Manager's Program and the construction law module for the OGCA Gold Seal Program, through the London & District Construction Association. Marcia sits on the Executive of the Construction Law Section of the OBA and is the Co-Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee. She is also a member of the London & District Construction Association and the Advocate's Society.
