Jonathan's practice focuses on representing growth-oriented and entrepreneurial clients, often in connection with the firm's outside general counsel practice. A licensed patent lawyer, he focuses a majority of his practice on intellectual property and technology related matters such as licensing, distribution, procurement and trademark prosecution and protection. Jonathan's practice also includes representing companies in business transactions and corporate governance matters, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, debt and private equity financing and securities offerings.
Jonathan brings to the firm's business practice a unique and valuable set of experiences. Holding a degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, Jonathan first worked for Accenture, providing infrastructure consulting services to its clients, and then worked for Tosco Corporation in its Information Technology department. While continuing to work at Tosco as an IT Manager, Jonathan attended Rutgers University School of Law and, after graduation from law school, worked in both the Information Technology department and the Legal departments of Tosco, focusing primarily on intellectual property matters, including review of marketing and advertising materials, procurement agreements, e-commerce initiatives and maintenance of patent, trademark and other intellectual property rights.
Jonathan's experience in both the information technology and in-house legal departments gives him a valuable perspective when assisting our clients, having sat on their side of the table.
