Irv Cantor has spent his entire 37 year career dedicated to families of those who have suffered serious injuries or death. He has successfully tried to verdict or settled over 1750 plaintiff’s injury or death cases, including over 400 traumatic brain injury cases. He has achieved over 45 verdicts and settlements exceeding $1,000,000 for his clients. His closing argument in an actual case was recorded in the audiotape, “VTLA Million Dollar Verdicts.”
In 2014, Irv was voted by his peers as "Richmond Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs Lawyer of the Year" in Best Lawyers in America and is listed in both the personal injury litigation and medical malpractice law categories. Irv was also voted by his peers as one of the "Top 10 Virginia Super Lawyers" in 2014, 2013 and 2012. Irv is a past president of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Brain Injury Association of Virginia and the Virginia Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Irv has lectured to trial lawyers on numerous subjects, including traumatic brain injuries, motor vehicle collisions, liability insurance coverage and elements of trial. He is on the faculty of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association College of Trial Advocacy. Irv has co-authored The Art and Science of Mastering the Jury Trial with Judge Samuel Johnston. In addition, he has written many published articles and was the author of the chapter dealing with the legal aspects of traumatic brain injury cases for the seminal medical textbook on the subject, Brain Injury Medicine.
