A nearly life-long resident of Tampa, Mr. Rix a Partner in Moore Bowman & Rix, P.A. in the Tampa office, began his professional career while attending Florida State University working with an appraisal firm focusing on eminent domain matters. After achieving state certification as a real estate appraiser, Greg provided appraisal and consulting services throughout Florida, primarily for valuation in a litigation setting. In 1998, he accepted a full academic scholarship to attend Stetson University College of Law where he graduated magna cum laude, with both a Juris Doctor and an MBA, was a member of the Law Review, and completed internships in the Second District Court of Appeal and the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit. Mr. Rix has handled eminent domain cases from the Panhandle to the Everglades involving properties as diverse as cattle ranches to downtown office buildings. While developing innovative methods and strategies for effective case resolution, Mr. Rix has also litigated cases in both state and federal court, before both judges and juries. Greg has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® in the field of eminent domain for the years 2008-2015, is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale- Hubbell for legal skill and professional ethics, and was recently chosen to serve on the Florida Bar’s Eminent Domain Committee. Currently, Greg is authoring an update to Chapter Six of the Florida Bar’s Eminent Domain Practice and Procedure, Eighth Edition, titled “Initial Procedures, Defenses, and Pleadings by Owner.”
