Anderson & Heard, P.L.L.C. was formed in 2002 by Eric K. Anderson and Scott Heard. Both Eric and Scott were partners with a large regional law firm for several years and concluded that forming a small, focused firm would better serve clients. Some of our firm attributes include:
Experience and Expertise
Eric and Scott each have more than twenty-five years of experience in estate planning, business entity planning and transactional matters. Both are Certified Public Accountants (inactive) and both have a Master of Laws in Taxation.
Concentration of Practice Area
The strategic focus of a large multi-practice law firm may be directed to the needs of its larger litigation department. By contrast, our firm focuses all of its energies in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate administration, business entity planning, business and real estate transactions, charitable gift planning and related areas of tax law.
Clients of Anderson & Heard, P.L.L.C. work closely with Eric or Scott who will be directly responsible for the work. At times, Eric or Scott may be assisted by a paralegal, but the primary contact for the client will be Eric or Scott and clients will not be delegated to an associate lawyer.
The bureaucratic wheels of a large organization can sometimes grind slowly. We are not encumbered by a structure that requires excessive delegation or reassignment of tasks. We can act quickly and provide our clients with prompt service. We also emphasize frequent communications with clients about progress we are making on their project.
In a large number of instances, we have represented our clients for many years. We enjoy these long-term, multi-generational relationships and we believe that our clients benefit from the continuity and familiarity that we can bring to their estate and business planning.
