Tory has a deep wealth of experience in employee benefits law. She has been in private practice for over 20 years, working with public agencies, private companies, and tax-exempt organizations. In addition, she spent four years in the public sector. As a Senior Assistant Attorney General in the Oregon Department of Justice, Tory was the primary legal advisor to the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System and the Oregon Public Employees Benefit Board, and she helped develop the Oregon University System’s Optional Retirement Plan.
Tory brings this depth and breadth of experience to her client relationships, helping employers find practical solutions to sometimes daunting challenges. Tory works to efficiently eliminate or mitigate risks while meeting client goals. Clients appreciate her resourcefulness and sensitivity to their business needs.
Tory is married to former state legislator Greg Macpherson, with whom she shares a continuing interest in political and community affairs. In her free time, Tory is an avid equestrian and enjoys working on dressage and jumping with Willow, her Oregon mustang. Tory is also a lifelong musician and plays traditional Irish music on the wooden flute, pennywhistles, and harp. During the rest of her waking hours, Tory is pursuing a graduate degree in theological studies.
