Tracy Steedman focuses primarily on commercial construction litigation in Maryland, contract drafting and negotiation, and green building law. She represents owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and design professionals, and municipalities in all areas of construction, including pre-litigation dispute resolution, claims counseling, and all phases of civil litigation. She handles complex commercial construction disputes, including bond claims and mechanics’ liens, trust fund and prompt payment issues, impact and delay claim analyses, construction defects, and warranty issues on public and private projects. Her experience includes a wide variety of litigation, including condemnation matters, MOSH and OSHA citations, and bid protests. She has handled cases at the trial and appellate levels in both state and federal courts. Tracy Steedman writes and speaks regularly on the subject of green building and construction law, contract terms and public-private partnerships.
Tracy is active with the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law and the Maryland State Bar Association’s Litigation and Construction Law Sections. She has served as the President of the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland's Baltimore / Carroll County Chapter. She is also active in several industry organizations such as the Maryland Construction Network, ULI and the AIA.
